Pet Assistance

Pet Assistance (4)
Saving Pets And Helping Families.
Established in 2006, The Foundation for Animal Care and Education (FACE) is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) public charity, whose mission is to enhance and preserve the quality of life of animals by providing access to necessary medical care and education.
Based on established criteria, FACE provides financial grants for San Diego pet parents who are unable to afford the cost of their animal's emergency or critical veterinary care.
As many people today experience increasing economic challenges, their pets are suffering too. The number of people who cannot afford critical medical care for their sick or injured pet is growing at an alarming rate. In what is being labeled as "economic euthanasia," these beloved companions are being euthanized because their owners cannot afford the often unexpected cost of treatment needed to save their lives. The FACE Foundation was created to address this tragedy, and is the first foundation of its kind in San Diego County. What started out as a beautiful vision to stop the surrender and euthanasia of beloved family pets has become a supportive center where families in crisis can get a helping hand to save their pets' lives.
FACE proudly works with over 100 veterinary hospitals throughout the San Diego community. Veterinary partners help FACE achieve its mission by generously discounting their services by at least 25% for qualified FACE patients.
Additionally, FACE partners with several local youth organizations to offer free Humane Education classes to children in the community.

Labrador Harbor was established as a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation in late 2005 to provide charitable funds to private citizens or non-profit rescue organizations that directly benefit the immediate physical well-being of Labrador Retrievers. We believe there are too many labs who are euthanized simply because loving families and supporters simply do not have the financial resources to cover the costs of life-saving medical procedures or rehabilitation. Our goal is to help provide financial assistance and resources to these families and supporters in an effort to provide a second chance to labs that would benefit from surgeries or rehabilitation techniques.
Labrador Harbor is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation which provides charitable funds to private citizens or non-profit rescue organizations that directly benefit the immediate physical well-being of Labrador Retrievers.

We customize our programs to meet each person's unique needs and provide ongoing long-term support and training for the life of the service animal. Also, we conduct an active local educational outreach program to improve public sensitivity to people with disabilities.
Our Service Dogs in-training live with our volunteer trainers from puppyhood through placement, ensuring skilled, consistent training. This eliminates the high fixed-costs of kenneling and its concomitant stress on the animals. Paws'itive Teams uses only positive reinforcement training (Operant Conditioning), a proven method based on sound scientific principles.
