Hours of Operation: Staff are available to accept ill, injured, and orphaned native predatory wildlife between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., seven days a week.
Please note: The Fund for Animals Wildlife Center is NOT open for visitors or tours.
The Fund for Animals Wildlife Center is located in northeast San Diego County in Ramona, California.
The 13-acre facility provides medical and rehabilitative care for native predatory species of wild mammals and birds. A fully equipped medical center and trained staff and volunteers ensure that the special needs of ill, injured, or orphaned wildlife can be met year-round.
The center specializes in hawks, owls, eagles, skunks, coyotes, bobcats, and mountain lions. A 150-foot, free-flight enclosure enables birds of prey—from Cooper's hawks to Golden eagles—to exercise their atrophied muscles after recovering from illness or injury. Once rehabilitated, the birds are released back into their home territory.
Enclosures for mammals are spacious and comfortable, allowing the orphaned youngsters and injured adults to get plenty of exercise and same-species companionship with minimal human contact. Young animals are raised to learn their species-specific behaviors so they develop the survival skills necessary for life in the wild. Sick or injured adults are offered a safe retreat to recuperate until they are well enough to once again fend for themselves. Once healed, the adults are released back into the areas from which they came to keep naturally occurring populations in balance.

Lions Tigers & Bears is a federally and state licensed non-profit 501(c)(3) rescue facility dedicated to providing a safe haven for unwanted and abused Big Cats and other exotic animals. We are one of very few accredited Big Cat Sanctuaries in the US. We are a NO KILL, NO BREED, NO SELL rescue and educational facility that allows the animals in our care the opportunity to live out their lives with dignity in a caring and safe environment. Our goal is to provide a safe haven for these rescued animals and to educate the public about the growing population of abandoned and unwanted exotic animals and where they come from.

Parrot Education & Adoption Center (PEAC) is a 501(c)3 non-profit, volunteer organization dedicated to educating current and potential bird owners as well as the general public on the proper care of companion parrots. Based in San Diego and covering all of Southern California, PEAC began operations in 1996. Unwanted or found parrots are accepted by PEAC. While in the foster program each parrot is evaluated to determine if it requires rehabilitation prior to being adopted out to a qualified person or if it is better suited to be relinquished to a qualified sanctuary. The mission of Project Wildlife is to improve the quality of life for local wildlife and the community as the primary resource for animal rehabilitation and conservation education.
Since 1972, Project Wildlife's dedicated staff and volunteers have given injured, orphaned and sick wild animals a second chance at life. This commitment to helping wild animals has grown tremendously and Project Wildlife is now one of the largest wildlife rehabilitation organizations in the country. Our medical staff and volunteers help 8,000-10,000 birds and mammals each year and have cared for more than 320 species to-date.

Our mission is to promote the adoption of animals and encourage responsible pet care, by working with the public and a network of respected local animal welfare agencies. Our mission is accomplished via daily TV Adopt-A-Pet Segments, hosting huge multi-organizational adoption events, providing spay/neuter funding to pet owners, maintaining a closely-knit network of approximately 40 local rescue agencies and animal shelters, and working on any projects that ultimately benefit the homeless animals of San Diego. The San Diego Animal Support Foundation receives no government funding or grants, and relies entirely on tax-deductible contributions from private donors to continue our life-saving mission. |

Wee Companions Small Animal Adoption, Inc. is a 501(c)(3)
| Our specialty is small furry exotics including, guinea pigs, rats, hamsters, mice and rabbits. Wee Companions has been rescuing small animals since 1998. In 2011, we served more animals in need than any previous year, taking in nearly 800 animals. This is quite a feat when you realize that we are a volunteer-based organization that is operated out of individual homes. Our funding comes from the generosity of supporters like you, we receive no government monies. |
